The seminar is directed toward business owners and key employees, addressing issues in three vital areas of law that impact business decisions. Dan A. Blakinger serves as Chairman of YMCA’s 2012 Annual Community Support Campaign, which is currently underway. The campaign raises funds for YMCA programs that support children and families. The money that is collected helps enable children, who are not otherwise able to afford it, to participate in after school programs, summer camp, sports and swim lessons offered by the YMCA. It also provides financial assistance to families so they can become members of the Y.

Angela H. Sanders and Jill M. Laskowitz Participate in Junior Achievement’s Young Women’s Futures Symposium

Blakinger, Byler & Thomas served as a sponsor for Junior Achievement’s Young Women’s Futures Symposium held at Elizabethtown College. Angela H. Sanders and Jill M. Laskowitz participated in the event as speakers, facilitators and mentors. Employees of BB&T held a dress down day to provide additional sponsorship funds for the Symposium.

This event provides an opportunity for students who are in the academic middle to explore career opportunities and learn key skills such as interviewing, budgeting, etc.

D. Mark Grimm, Jr. Joins BB&T as Shareholder

D. Mark Grimm, Jr. joined BB&T as a shareholder on March 1, 2012. Mark has counseled clients in business-related matters for 19 years, including buying and selling businesses, start-ups, financing, real estate, business succession and securities law. He also advises clients on estate planning and administration.

Mark received a B.A. (summa cum laude) from Franklin and Marshall College and his J.D. (cum laude) from Georgetown University Law Center. He routinely serves as a panelist for seminars through the Lancaster Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Pennsylvania Bar Institute and the Lancaster Bar Association.

Jim Thomas, BB&T’s President, said, “We are pleased to have Mark join our firm. He is an experienced and widely respected counselor and advisor who will compliment our firm’s practice.”

Theresa Mongiovi, a member of the Board of Directors for the Hands-on House, will serve as the show’s Backstage Director and Jill Laskowitz will serve as a Dresser Coordinator.
