Our Wills, Estates, Trusts and Elder
Law attorneys provide a complete range of estate and trust planning
and administration,
charitable gifting, and elder law services. In conjunction with
our litigation section,
we handle all related litigation matters, including Will contests,
fiduciary liability action, distribution disputes and controversies
with the Internal Revenue Service and Pennsylvania Department of
Revenue.
Estate
and Trust Planning
Working closely with our business and tax sections,
we advise clients fully on all aspects of their personal
and financial planning and on business succession matters. We work
with our clients’ other
professional advisers, including accountants, trust officers
and insurance professionals, to assure the most effective
use of planning
resources. We individually counsel our clients and assist
in the development and implementation of estate plans. We
prepare
estate
planning documents, such as Wills, Durable Powers of Attorney,
Advance Health Care Directives (Living Wills), Irrevocable
Life Insurance Trusts, Living Trusts, Special Needs Trusts
and Prenuptial
Agreements.
Charitable Gifting
We have extensive experience in representing
donors and charities in successfully implementing
charitable remainder
trusts, pooled
income funds, private foundations, public charities, gift
annuities, bargain sale transactions and other gifting
arrangements.
Estate and Trust Administration
Our attorneys and paralegals work
closely with families, executors, and trustees
to assist
with marshaling, allocating,
valuing, accounting
and distributing assets, financial record keeping, the
collection of life insurance and retirement benefits,
and reporting and
complying with probate court requirements. We are experienced
in the preparation
and filing of state inheritance tax, federal estate and
gift tax, and fiduciary income tax returns and
in working with the
authorities
who examine these returns.
Elder Law
Our attorneys represent
both incapacitated persons and
family members seeking a guardianship
for an incapacitated
person. We
assist clients with long term planning by working with
clients and their families to develop an asset
protection plan designed
to allow our clients to protect the maximum amount
of
their assets, as allowed by law, from
the overwhelming cost of
long-term care.
When necessary, we assist in the preparation and filing
of Medicaid applications. |
